When Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey the people in the crowd truly rejoiced and celebrated. They were expecting that Messiah would liberate them from the rule of the oppressors. But Jesus came to liberate them from the slavery of sin. They wanted liberation from taxation, He brought them liberation from condemnation. Jesus offered them peace with God.
