The name Yahweh comes from the Hebrew word “I am”. When God met Moses at the burning bush and commanded him to go back to Egypt and lead the people out of slavery, Moses asked how he could introduce himself to the people. “God said to Moses: “I am the One Who Is”.” And he said, “Tell the people of Israel: “I am sent me to you.”
