Just before he died, Jesus called his disciples to celebrate together the Passover feast. Thus he established a new significant fellowship through eating that we serve to this very day and which is the highest expression of Christian worship. The Lord Supper is a kind of an “enacted sermon” through which we recall our Lord’s death and resurrection and look to the future towards His return in glory.

And after Jesus served the Lord’s supper, he gave the last lesson to the disciples; He washed their feet and told them to do the same. That’s what we are going to do today, too.
